Live Life, Love Life
I desperately want to be anywhere. Anywhere but here. Somewhere new and exciting, where I can meet interesting people and experience amazing things.
I love Falmouth, especially now, in the sunshine, with all my work handed in, and nothing to do but enjoy myself. But ever since the end of the STA competition (and all the more now that the intern's proper itinerary has been announced), my hunger for travel and adventure has completely taken over. I want to get away...I need to get away, before I go completely insane!
I've got a few ideas for the summer months, but a lot of them seem to involve waiting on other people to make their decisions and their plans before I can finalise mine...it's driving me mad. No one will commit to anything...so I think in the end, I'm just gonna have to go it alone. To explore and just see where I end up. That's my kind of travelling...spontaneous and unforeseeable.
Anyway...for now, I'll leave you with this...

Take a look out at the ocean. You'll soon realise that the possibilities are endless.

Happy or Sad?
So it's all over. Months of planning, filming, editing, blogging and generally stressing out have finally come to an end. And while I didn't get the result I so badly hoped for, I did get one of the runner up positions, which in itself is something I should be really proud of. And I am, truly. I wonder what I've won?!
I've enjoyed the whole experience and feel as though I've made some really good friends through the competition. In fact I'm kind of sad it's over. Maybe we should have some sort of STA WTI losers summer adventure or, like Paddy suggested, a WTI BBQ, something that's probably a little easier to organise, and definitely kinder on the wallet!
So while the competition is finished, I feel like we all now belong to a little club, and that is something no one can take away from us! We will forever be the 2010 STA WTI Top 10 finalists.
Congrats to ALL of the top 10, we did brilliantly to get this far. And to the winners (whoever you are?), have an amazing time, and just remember that we are watching, so make it good! :P
Over and Out. Peace x

Oh What A Busy Life I Lead
Sorry I haven't blogged for a while, I have been supremely busy with uni work for the past week or so (I've even been in the library all afternoon today...yes, on a Saturday!) and just haven't had a spare minute to sit down and think, let alone write.
But it will all be over soon...only two weeks to go and then 2nd year is over. Oh god, that means I'm gonna be a 3rd year...uh-oh. It's gonna get serious.
I guess all I wanted to say was this...the STA World Traveller Intern competition is coming to an end, only 4 days to go until they announce the winners, and I for one cannot wait! The suspense is killing me and it's been so hard to think of anything else. Obviously I want to win, as do all the other 9 finalists (congrats to everyone, we've all done amazingly to get this far!), but if I don't there's a lot that I can take away from this competition.
I feel that I've learnt a lot about myself, and like Emma Sparks, I no longer have the attitude of 'why bother, I'm never going to win' but instead I now think 'well, somebody has to...I might as well give it a go'. My whole outlook on situations like this has changed.
You'll never know if you don't give it a go.
That I think is my new motto. And it rhymes, even better!
I've decided that even if I don't win, I am going to do something amazing this summer - maybe I'll go inter railing around Europe like I had originally planned over 3 months ago, before the whole STA thing kicked off. Or island hopping in Greece. Or head over to see family in America. Or maybe somewhere more exotic, like Thailand? Who knows...
The possibilities are endless.
